Christian Education - Youth Group
What if you received this message, "It's been awhile. I've missed you. I'll be at The Shack next weekend if you want to get together. Signed Papa" Find out what happens next in The Shack on Sunday morning. We are also planning YF 2/22/15 to see The Wizard of Oz!
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Youth complete first Mission Trip
The Youth of Paddletown packed up their bags and headed to Schuylkill County on July 3rd, unsure of what to expect. This was our first Mission trip for the Youth group, and with excitement and enthusiasm, 7 Youth members and 2 adult leaders took on the adventure into the unknown. The Youth met up with over 50 other Youth kids from Connecticut, Ohio and New Jersey and quickly made friends and went off to work sites.
Some of the groups got to help a family with a bed-ridden parent by scraping and painting the weathered house & garage. Others would help in a community setting by weeding an area around a historical building. Some of our kids got to help with the Kids Club, a day program for the children in the area who could come to a safe place, have lunch, learn Bible Stories, play games and do crafts. Other kids from our group went to a rehabilitation center and spoke to the residents, many who have not had visitors for months. All the kids had lots of fun at different elderly homes and senior centers where the residents were happy to sing, dance, play Bingo, and be in the presence of such awesome young people.
Our days were long and busy. We started and ended together with devotional and worship times. In the evenings, the program (Youthworks!) had activities for the entire group to participate in. Some of the activities included a tour through a coal mine, swimming at a state park, fireworks on the 4th of July, scavenger hunt to get to know the city, and a community picnic in which we gave a meal to the community and got so much more in return.
All of our Youth began planning their next mission trip for summer 2012 before we arrived safely back to the church. Their excitement and enthusiasm could not be squashed by the hard work they gave during the week. We are proud to say that our Youth gave so much beyond the call of duty and represented Paddletown in a most positive and loving way. Thanks go out to our congregation who gave during our fundraising or private contributions. We couldn’t have done without the love and support from our awesome Paddletown family!!
Way to go Paddletown’s Youth!!
