Paddletown wins Regular Season & Playoffs of the 2013 Greater Harrisburg Area Church Dartball League
It has been another successful dartball campaign for the throwers from Paddletown. Winning the regular season league title with a record of 44 wins and only 10 losses, they were prepared to battle for the Upper Division playoff title. The finals pitted Paddletown against the second place team in the regular season, Paxton UMC. Just as you would expect, the night turned into an epic battle of two teams doing everything in their power to avoid losing. Paxton came out strong and won the first game of the best of three by a score of 17-9. Paddletown did not give up and fought back to win game two by a close 11-9 score. The last game was a classic. It was nip and tuck the whole way with Paddletown finally taking a 4 run lead into the top of the 9th inning. Paxton was not finished. They would score 4 runs to tie the game with Paddletown having one last chance to avoid extra innings. Jeff started the inning by throwing a double. The next two batters fought hard but could not move Jeff ahead and both settled for outs. Coming down to the last chance, Roger threw his first dart which found a line on the board giving him another chance. He did not miss, throwing the double needed to score Jeff with the winning run and the celebration was on.
Congratulations to Paddletown dartballers for keeping the winning tradition alive!
